THE YELLOW HOUSE

For my birthday this year Tom made plans for the 2 of us to stay a few days at a cute little bed and breakfast in Salado while the kids were at summer camp. I must admit, I didn't think I would enjoy the whole communal breakfast thing and all that girly stuff... but it was a wonderful treat! It really made me feel special. I'm so use to hanging out with my guys that I think I forgot what it was like to be surrounded by "pretty" stuff! Submerge yourself in all this foo-foo and I dare you to not get in touch with your feminine side!

We had the most gracious innkeepers, Brian and Cathy. Cathy indulged us with over-the-top breakfasts, decadent desserts in the afternoon, fresh honey from their own honey bees and beautiful flowers. Here is a sample of their hospitality:

Beautiful roses!

This was served for breakfast one day. Don't know what it was, but it was delicious! Served with heart shaped canteloupe and the best bacon we have EVER had!

Tom sampling the afternoon treats! Strawberry cake and turtle brownies!

Here are two of the 5 charming bedrooms at The Yellow House:

And here are just a few more pics of the surroundings we enjoyed at the house...

Now, I don't know if I have any guys that follow my blog, but if I do, may I suggest you treat your bride to something like this at least once... It's quite a nice departure from the traditional get-away to the fancy hotel! Mix it in with a little shopping, a chick flick and nice wine and you should be "good" for at least a year!
